How long does it take?

Loans/Media

In the past, we have said that books/media from other libraries take up to 2 weeks to be received. Since the beginning of covid, this time frame has doubled. All items are processed the day they are received. Please pay attention to the 'not needed by' date on your request form.

Articles

Articles are often received within 3 days. Some articles arrive within hours.

How do I renew an item?

Items can be renewed once. We will try two renewals, but it is unlikely that we will be granted a second renewal by the lending library. Please visit our page on renewals.

What if I can’t find what I want online?

You can fill out a blank form with the title, author, and publication date. We will try to find it for you using various resources. If we cannot find it, we will send a notification email to your email address on file.

You may also visit the research desk, chat with staff, or email us.

Who do I contact for help?

Please see our contact page for more information.

Do I have to keep the blue strap on my book?

Yes. If you lose the blue vinyl strap on your book, you will be charged $2 on your library account.

Can I request e-books?

Unfortunately, due to licensing issues, we are unable to request e-books. All material, except for articles or chapter copies, must be borrowed physically.

Can we purchase an item instead of borrowing it?

An item requested for purchase will be considered in accordance with our collection development policy. Should we decide to purchase the suggested item, you will be notified and it will be placed on hold for you when it arrives.
