Your college experience isn’t limited to academics—it’s also about finding your place on campus and building connections that matter. Getting involved in clubs, organizations, and events is a great way to meet new people, explore your interests, and grow as a leader. This section highlights ways to participate in campus life, foster healthy relationships, engage with the wider community, and practice positive communication skills. Whether you’re looking for friendship, mentorship, or volunteer opportunities, here’s where you’ll find pathways to belonging.

Healthy Relationships
Healthy relationships are based on respect, communication, and boundaries.
While you should have these healthy relationships with a partner, you should also have healthy friend relationships.

Consent
Consent is clear, voluntary, and ongoing agreement between people to participate in any activity.
It must be given freely — without pressure, manipulation, or intoxication.
Silence or lack of resistance does not equal consent.
Key Principles of Consent (The “FRIES” Model)
Freely Given – no force, pressure, or coercion.
Reversible – anyone can change their mind at any time.
Informed – all parties know what they’re agreeing to.
Enthusiastic – only “yes” means yes.
Specific – saying yes to one thing doesn’t mean yes to everything.
Why It Matters
Consent is the foundation of healthy, respectful relationships.
Practicing consent builds trust and communication with friends, partners, and peers.
Understanding consent helps prevent sexual misconduct and creates safer communities.
