Choosing the Right Journal

Some important steps to consider when choosing a journal:

1. Define your publishing goal.

2. Decide what is important to you in the publishing process.

3.  Make a short list of journals to compare.

Some criteria to consider:

  • Does the journal publish articles that are similar to scope and type to yours?
  • Consider the impact and reach of the journal.
  • Consider the readership and audience of the journal.
  • Make sure the journal is ethical.  Consider checking Cabell's.
