Please Tell Us What You Think: February Trials 2014

Our purpose is to regularly seek faculty, staff, and student opinions of new electronic resources which the library could potentially offer.

OED Online

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

The tagline for the online version of the Oxford English Dictionary is "The definitive record of the English language".  As such we think that it appeals to everyone (and not just the English Dept.).  Included and integrated into the interface is the Historical thesaurus of the OED which was first published in book form in 2009.

I would use this myself and require it for students. The OED not only tells how a word's meaning has changed over time, it shows it with dated contextualized passages of use.

DSM-V Library

NO LONGER AVAILABLE

The fifth edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders serves as a universal authority for psychiatric diagnosis.  This classic reference work is of interest to a number of disciplinary areas across campus.
